Rep. Payne, Jr. Hosts Infrastructure Funding Forum with NJ-10 Mayors

washington d.c. Representative Donald M. Payne, Jr. hosted a virtual forum today with mayors from communities in New Jersey’s Tenth Congressional District to discuss funding available for local infrastructure projects in the new Infrastructure Act. Rep. Payne, Jr. opened the forum with a description of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the new $1.2 trillion funding program to fix roads, bridges, systems railways and other nationwide infrastructure needs. Next, Rep. Payne, Jr. informed the mayors of the program’s funding provisions that would help them pay for their specific projects. The mayors discussed various needs in the district, such as dangerous roads and bridges, flood mitigation projects to protect cities and towns from natural disasters, and improved water and sewage systems. .

“I introduced the original Infrastructure Bill and helped pass the final Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, as it would provide billions of dollars to rebuild the infrastructure of the communities I represents in Congress,” said Representative Donald M. Payne, Jr. great to hear about their projects and I will continue to fight to make sure they are funded.
