Miss Colorado pageant lands in Parker through 2027 | Business

The Miss Colorado pageant has found a new home in Parker, the Parker Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday.

The Miss Colorado and Miss Colorado’s Outstanding Teen pageants will be held at Parker’s PACE Center on Memorial Day weekends through at least 2027.

“Parker and the PACE Center are a perfect fit for our competitions,” Mark Hinson, co-executive director of the Miss Colorado Organization, said in a press release. “The room and the city made our management team feel wonderfully welcomed and supported.”

Miss Colorado Scholarship Organization has joined the chamber as a member, as part of the agreement, and the chamber will become the “Local Host Sponsor” for the organization and for the Miss Colorado and Teen pageants.

“I know that the Parker community will welcome candidate families and the leadership of the organization, not just on competition weekends, but throughout the year,” said longtime Parker resident Stacey James and CEO of the Stacey James Institute School of Cosmetology and Esthetics, in the statement. “That’s the kind of place Parker is. It’s a win for everyone involved.

James is a board member of Miss Colorado.

Last year’s pageant took place at PACE Center, when active duty soldier Maura Spence-Carroll was crowned Miss Colorado 2021. Based in Fort Carson, Spence-Carroll made history by becoming the first member of military service on active duty to receive the title. .

“I look forward to the new Miss Colorado actively participating in the Parker Days Festival and other Chamber events,” she said in the statement. “You’re going to see a lot more wreaths around Parker over the next decade.”

“This will be a tremendous engine of economic development for the City of Parker,” Chamber CEO TJ Sullivan said in the release. “Families from across the state will travel to Parker for meetings and competitions, supporting our restaurants, hotels, catering businesses, rewards shops and countless other local service providers.”
