Emmy-winning bestselling author, actor, director and producer Henry Winkler delivered a keynote address at County Vital Aging 2021: Resilient and Ready! Thursday meeting. Winkler is best known for his role as Arthur Fonzarelli (also known as “Fonzi”) on the TV show “Happy Days”.
Winkler shared his thoughts and experiences on resilience during tough times, served the community, and enjoyed the aging process.
“You have a choice. Your glass is either half full or half empty. It’s the way you see it, not the way someone else sees it,” Winkler said.
The Vital Aging Conference has all but resumed after a one-year hiatus by COVID-19. Winkler and other speakers worked on a variety of themes in an effort to encourage attendees to rejuvenate their lives so they can thrive again after spending most of the last year at home.
Winkler recommended staying connected and âkeeping the brain from going inactiveâ in the secret to a longer, healthier life. He also encouraged people to focus on what they can do, not what they cannot do.
âDon’t take the fact that something isn’t working and say it all isn’t working,â Winkler said. âYou take what doesn’t work, admit it and take whatever works and keep working. You are in control! “
