The boys and girls of the county’s junior pig clubs are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Daviess County Fair and Show and judging of the pigs on Wednesday, club day, to see who will be the three lucky winners of the trips from the state fair, as well as who will win the cash prizes offered this year, amounting to approximately $300. It looks like there will be around 90 pig entries and 50 people will enter chickens. Pig owners will need to provide drinkers, buckets, feed and bedding.
• August 29, 1922, Eugene Auterburn was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, following reports that he was wanted by Owensboro police for stealing an automobile. It is alleged that Auterburn drove to Ford’s “U-Drive It” station on South Frederica Street about a week ago and rented a car which he never returned with. It is unclear whether Auterburn will waive the extradition papers and unless he does officers will have to wait for the papers from Frankfurt.
